I have painted this scene twice before--the first time in watercolor and years later in oils in a 12x16 size. I decided to try it once again in a long format. I liked this size much better, and the linen canvas was much easier and freer to paint on. It was painted from a photo I took years ago of my husband hiking in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. I am always lingering behind him taking myriads of photos. He has to be very patient hiking with me.
Beautiful. Reminds me of my father.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Chester. It was actually my husband. I frustrate him when we hike because I'm always lingering behind to take photos.
